Now that you have created your account let’s get to the fun part! Let’s start Marketing your business, I am going to break it down to 5 easy steps, each step getting more advanced.

5 steps to ton of followers on Twitter for your business:

1. Start simple, first ten tweets should be about you introducing yourself and your business. Examples are: Tweet about how you open your business, tweet about what clients love about your business (don’t say my clients love my pizza, instead tweet one of my clients ordered 25pizzas at 6PM the busiest time of our restaurant and wanted them done in an hour,  we actually did it and I didn’t think it was possible!  tweet about someone famous(even just a famous local guy) . I hope you get the point and that is don’t tweet to directly promote your business because everyone is doing that and is boring! Tweet interesting things and promote it indirectly through writing a little story of what happened at your business today that could be beneficiary  to you.

2. Another great way to get new followers and keep your followers is by writing articles. Write articles of the field (make sure you include a link to your website and your twitter account in your articles!)you are in then go ahead and Submit your article to a Directory, let your Twitter followers know you wrote an article and it has been submitted to a Directory and it should be out soon. Include the title in your tweet, and let them know when you think the article will be out by. This continues to build anticipation.

3.Now go and Set up your account at EzineArticles, create new articles and publish them  as “auto-tweeted”  ”to be and announced on Twitter”, include the title and the link. Tweets will be done for you automatically from EzineArticles, this will generate interest at Twitter.com and also all over the web.

4. Now that your Twitter account is established its time to get automated. We are going to use 2 FREE tools for this:

find these tools in the tool page.

5. Collect the money that your twitter followers are brining in to your business.

7 Steps to a Ton of Traffic

Here is 7steps everyone should implement to get a ton of traffic from Twitter:

7 Steps to a Ton of Traffic!

Step 1 – Tweet that you are working on a new piece of content. Include the working title and when you expect to have it done by. This builds the anticipation in your followers and puts a bit a pressure on you to get in done.

Step 2 – When you submit your article to a Directory, let your Twitter followers know your new content has been submitted. Include the title, and let them know when you think the article will be out by. This continues to build anticipation.

Step 3 – When you set up your account at EzineArticles correctly, your newly published articles are “auto-tweeted” to and announced on Twitter, including the title and the link. This is done automatically for you. If your article is coming out on another Directory, watch for it’s publication and then tweet that the article is out. Include the title and the link.

Step 4 – Along about this time a really cool and powerful thing begins to happen. Your followers on Twitter begin to Re-Tweet (RT) your article, and now you are reaching all of their followers as well. Thank those who RT your article and Re-Tweet their announcement too.

Step 5 – Follow up the automated announcement of your articles with announcements of your own. Just because your article was automatically announced does not mean every one saw it. Twitter is much too fluid for that. So follow up with announcements of your own. Ask “Have you seen this yet?” and include the article title and link.

These first 5 steps drive traffic to the Article Directories that host your article. When you have written your article well and crafted your Resource Box well. this will quickly turn into traffic to your websites and blogs.

The next 2 steps involve repurposing your article on your own sites and driving Twitter traffic their as well.

Step 6 – Repurpose your article onto your website and then invite your Twitter traffic to check out the article there. Now you are driving Twitter traffic to your own website.

Step 7 – Repurpose your article onto your blog and then invite your Twitter traffic to your blog to check out your article there. Now you are driving Twitter traffic to your blog.

Facebook Vs Twitter in Business

What is the value of Facebook over Twitter? Is there a difference? When do you use one or the other or     both? The ultimate decision about which social network to use lies with your company culture, goals and target customer. Nonetheless, it’s important to recognize that you cannot choose “none of the above” if you want to survive the new digital economy. Therefore, the question is which do we choose and how do we begin?

This article will help you begin to distinguish between the value of Facebook for business and the value of Twitter for business.

It helps to understand the evolution of these two platforms to get an idea of what works best for each. Facebook began as a social networking tool for college students. Launched in 2004 in response to MySpace (which linked young people together throughout their high school years), Facebook targeted the student entering a college campus. In the early days, it was a highly social network, similar to MySpace.

Twitter, on the other hand, began as a way for people to communicate fast and in short bites. The founders had no idea that the platform would take off the way it did. Begun as a way to simply say to fellow workers, friends and colleagues what was on your mind at any given moment, Twitter soon became a powerful communication tool.

Knowing how the two platforms began helps you understand the strengths of each and how you might best capitalize on those strengths.

Both Facebook and Twitter effectively target the population of 35 and younger. Facebook, however, currently boosts a significant rise in the number of boomers using the platform. As far as consumer use goes, however, for business to consumer (B2C) purchases, the demographics are similar. Both attract mid-to-older players, with higher education and income.

Value of Facebook to Business:

Primarily a social site. On Facebook, you can share as much or as little personal information as you’d like. You can post photos of yourself and your family or of your company and employees. Facebook gives you an opportunity to create a personal as well as professional profile of who you are. People learn more about you as a person. In sales we talk about the know, like, and trust factor before a sale is made. Businesses that focus on other businesses (B2B) as clients understand this factor. Facebook gives you a great opportunity to let down some barriers and help your business customer learn more about you.
Versatility. Facebook allows you to set up a personal profile, a professional profile, a business page or a fan page. You have all kinds of choices for putting yourself and your business in front of your customers. People like to feel part of a business. You can enable that by setting up a fan page for your business or for a unique product that you offer.
Facebook ads. For business, Facebook gives you the opportunity to purchase a pay-for-click ad to target a unique niche.

Value of Twitter

Speed and real time. Twitter’s biggest strength is its speed. When you Tweet something, it goes out to masses of people immediately and in the moment. That is why it has become the world’s roving reporter. When things happen around the world, Tweets start pouring in. To get a message out quickly to lots of people, Twitter reigns king.
Information and Research. On Twitter, you get fast information and links to blogs all the time. If you are curious about what is happening in your industry, Twitter will keep you up-to-date quickly. If you’re curious about what people are saying about your industry or your business, Twitter will tell you.
Versatility of response. Both Facebook and Twitter give you a versatility of response. You can respond to the entire population in Twitterville when you post a Tweet. On Facebook, your status updates go to all your friends. People can see what you are up to or what is going on in your life all at once. Both Twitter and Facebook give you the option to send a private message that goes directly to that person. On Twitter, however, messages are more public than they are on Facebook. Wall posts on Facebook go to all your friends and all the friends whose wall you posted on.

There are many more value differences between Twitter, Facebook and the other social networks. Ultimately, you must look at each platform and decide how you can create a social media strategy for your business.

Although you may have heard strong opinions on how to use Twitter properly, there really is no right way. There are people who use Twitter purely for the social aspect and chat about their day, their relationship, gossip, etc. There are other people who use it strictly for business and branding.

You are free to use Twitter for whatever purpose you choose. However, if you are marketing your website, products, and/or services, then there are things you’ll want to avoid if you plan on your efforts being effective.

  • Self-Promo Overload
It’s important to remember that Twitter is ultimately a social platform, not a sales platform. Although there’s no harm in dropping a promotional tweet here and there, you’ll need to mix it into regular tweets that offer something a little more than only your latest sale. Share articles you read and other interesting stuff you find online, but don’t simply push your own promo, or else you’ll lose credibility quick.
  • What Are You Doing? (No! not literally!)
The Twitter home page famously reads “What Are You Doing?” just above the field where you type in your 140 character tweet update. However, that doesn’t mean that you add an update every 5 minutes with messages like “I’m peeling potatoes”, “starting the car”, or “havin’ a smoke”.  Of course, it’s fine to send a few really personal or even mundane tweets throughout the day, but don’t lose sight of Twitter’s primary function which is to socialize, network and connect. You need to be somewhat engaging.
  • Don’t Be Auto-Social
There are extra tools that you can use now to automate some of your Twitter tasks. While some people swear by them, many Twitter users despise them. It takes away from the very essence of connecting and networking when you have everything automated.  Many feel like it’s a bit spammy as well when you choose to follow someone and receive a DM (direct message) from them seconds later with  link promoting their website.  If you are sending out automated messages, why not just a “hi” and a “thank you for following me”?
Whether or not to use automation is up to you, but maybe wait until you get a taste of it yourself  and also get a feel of how other people are talking about it on twitter before making a decision.

If you haven’t actually used Twitter and only heard about the basics of  it being a micro-blogging method that allows you to spurt small messages with a maximum of 140 characters, you may roll your eyes with a response along the lines of “what’s the point?”.  However, it’s exremely common for that mindset to quickly turn around once a person actually utilizes Twitter to it’s fullest capabilites.

The number one reason that Twitter is a great tool for marketers is that it separates itself from all the other techniques, making it’s only function to be a ultra fast connection to create and build relationships.

The real-time interaction is simply unbeatable and the although it initially sounds like it would be a waste of time to some, the 140 character message limit actually seems to be a major benefit. Maybe that’s because with only 140 characters, you are forced to choose every word very carefully to ensure that the message is effective?

Another reason that twitter works well for marketers is that you have a network base of readers who chose to follow you and read your messages because they are interested in what you have to say.  There are those who abuse the system ad follow mass amounts of people in bulk just with the hopes that those people will feel obligated to follow them back, but for the most part, people follow you out of interest or recommendation from another user they respect.

Ultimately, Twitter has several reasons that it works well for marketers and it’s increasingly becoming the must-use networking tool for Internet marketers.

If you haven’t already, try create a Twitter profile today and start tweeting your way to new followers, customers, joint ventures, and just plain addictive fun!
